Saudi Urban Intelligence Studio builds AI tools that bring sequence, rigour and speed to urban planning and design across Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. UrbanGPT.AI is its flagship — a 35-stage engine that carries a project from first site reading to A0 competition boards.
Saudi Urban Intelligence Studio sits at the intersection of academic urban research and practical AI tooling for the Gulf. It translates decades of planning methodology into structured, repeatable workflows that practitioners, agencies and universities can use directly.
The work is grounded in Saudi regulation, climate and Vision 2030 — not generic global assumptions. The goal is simple: give serious urban professionals an instrument that respects how planning decisions are actually made, in the order they are made, for this region.
General-purpose AI is fast but shallow for urban work — it repeats itself, overlooks local code, and skips the sequence in which real planning decisions unfold. UrbanGPT.AI encodes a 35-stage, six-phase methodology with an anti-duplication architecture, so each stage builds on the last and produces a distinct, usable output.
Local regulation, privacy, mosque-centred planning and Vision 2030 are built in, not bolted on.
A transparent 35-stage sequence you can follow, audit and teach — not a black box.
Designed for hot, humid Gulf conditions, with shade and thermal comfort treated as first-order concerns.
Outputs are conceptual aids for licensed professionals — SCE sign-off always stays with you.
Prof. Ibrahim Hegazy is the founder of Saudi Urban Intelligence Studio and the author of UrbanGPT.AI. He is a Professor of Urban Design and City Planning, and a regional planning consultant to the Makkah Region Municipality. He previously founded EBDAA Engineering Consultancy.
He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Liverpool (2010) and earlier degrees from Mansoura University. His research centres on AI-assisted urban planning, low-carbon and creative-economy urbanism, and thermal comfort in hot-humid cities — the same concerns that shape this platform.
